Scarlet Letter Characterization Prompt:

In-Class Writing: Original Response

1. Go to "Discussions" in the left menu.
2. Click on the Characterization prompt.
3. Read the directions
4. Type your response in Microsoft Word.
5. Review and revise your response before posting it in the discussion attached to the prompt page.

This weekend: Peer Response

1. Read the response of someone else who had YOUR CHARACTER.
2. Leave a comment/feedback on their response (demonstrating that you have read and thought about their response).
3. If someone else has already responded to the posting, you must choose another response to review and respond.

3. Based on your character, provide at least one example for your motif: Hester: Darkness/Daylight, Pearl: Clothing, Dimmesdale: Hand over his Heart, Chillingworth: Devil/Evil
4. Edit the page to include the example/quote and appropriate page number from the book.
